Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail
Brief Description:
Running through California, Oregon and Washington, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is known for its scenic views, ranging terrains and changes in elevation as it connects Mexico and Canada. Try a small section for a day trip or spend the season crossing the nation by foot or by horse. Spanning 2,650 mi (4,240 km) the PCT does not permit motorized vehicle use and permits are required. Those making it across the entire trail will cross 60 major mountain passes, go through 19 canyons, pass more than 1,000 lakes and wander through seven national parks.
